About our Jerusalem Artichokes

Jerusalem artichokes, also known as sunchokes, are knobbly, earthy tubers with a slightly sweet, nutty flavour and a creamy texture when cooked. Despite their name, they are not related to artichokes but are part of the sunflower family. Originally native to North America, they were introduced to Europe in the 17th century and have since become a prized ingredient in winter cooking.
